HALEY MARIE
STARK

Harvard College A.B. Candidate in Theater, Dance & Media and Psychology

About Me

Haley Stark, a senior at Harvard College, finds her passion in the intersection of Theater, Dance & Media (TDM) and Psychology, pursuing both as a Double Concentration. With a genuine love for the arts, Stark has directed three productions on Harvard’s campus and looks forward to contributing as assistant director for a student-written musical and executive producer for a ballet-inspired rendition of Romeo & Juliet in the Fall 2024 semester.

Outside of directing, Stark enjoys performing with Harvard’s Three Letter Acronym, a renowned improv comedy troupe that she co-captained during the 2022-23 school year. She also finds joy in participating in the Harvard Undergraduate Stand-Up Comedy Society, Harvard SKETCH Comedy, and the Harvard Ballroom Dance Team.

Originally from rural Maine, Stark appreciates the diverse artistic opportunities Cambridge, MA offers. As a member of the disabled community, she is committed to making her art more inclusive and accessible to those with physical disabilities.

Testimonials & Reviews

“…The most visually and musically stirring part of the show occurred at the end of a dream sequence, as Edna and Edith and Hannah and Anna interacted physically and musically. Stage Director Haley Stark smartly juxtaposed the two pairs in a simple but commanding picture with clear color blocking of red and green creating a definitive associations. The simplicity and directness of the scene made it the most memorable of the evening.”

“…On page 35 of her new memoir, “Tying the Ribbon,” Haley Stark makes a request. “I’m going to ask you to pause in your reading for moment,” she writes. “If you know a pediatric nurse, I beg you to thank them immediately. There may be no more noble a profession than nursing.”.”

“…After high school she plans to study political science and disability rights at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

What she most wants people to know, Stark said, is “my injury does not define me, (although) it has shaped me into the person I am and continues to shape the person that I am becoming.”
